Heavenly. Just heavenly. An almond shortbread crust filled with sweet, ripe peaches and creamy custard with a hint of almond extract topped by brown sugar and more sliced almonds.
This has become one of my favorite Dorie desserts, even though it's a tart and my hatred of making tart dough is well-documented. It was a little involved with the tart dough and the peeling/slicing of peaches, etc. but it was worth it.
