Tuesdays with Dorie: Quick Classic Berry Tart

First off, the 'quick' part is a little misleading - unless you've made/ frozen your tart crust and made/refrigerated your pastry cream, otherwise it's going to take awhile. Behold - the world's ugliest tart! It had to travel for 50 minutes in a car and get put together on the go and I could find a proper platter for it to travel on, those are my excuses. It was still good though and I had no problems making the pastry cream, which was delicious. I used all strawberries I had bought at the Memphis Farmer's Market that morning (from Jones Orchard), very yummy. I took it to my brother and sister-in-law's to go with dinner. Everyone liked it, the shortbread crust is always a good compliment to juicy berries and rich cream. Thanks to Cristine of Cooking with Cristine for this week's selection!

Now how can you call a tart "ugly"? There's no such thing! I think it looks dee-licious. Those strawberries are beautiful.

How funny! Yes, quick - no! But I suppose she means having everything "pre made"? :) Looks wonderful - especially with the strawberries! And I agree - that shortbread crust? Everyone LOVES it! Nicely done!
